The Utah Department of Corrections is looking for people who want to make a difference. We are hiring for Correctional Officers at our Draper and Gunnison correctional facilities.
A Correctional Officer maintains safety, security and surveillance over institutional programs and activities, including supervision and monitoring of inmates. Correctional Officers are the Prison's front-line employees. They interact with inmates daily and can make the biggest impact on an inmate's experience while in the care and custody of the Utah Department of Corrections.
The best candidate will be a positive role model, who helps create a safe and positive environment for staff and inmates. We’re looking for people with high character and integrity who can work with a diverse population. The Correctional Officer position requires POST Certification. (If you are not POST Certified, we will put you through the academy in order to obtain the necessary certifications, as a full time paid employee.)
